Partnering with the City of North Charleston, the Noisette Community Master Plan set forth a vision for “a vibrant, healthy city embracing its heritage and celebrating its role in the community, ecosystem and marketplace.” The master plan for the Noisette Community is a physical blueprint for building healthy communities.
The Noisette Foundation was formed in 2004 to ensure that this vision is kept and that no one is left out of the process. Our vision is to design a healthy pathway for all citizens from conception to death so that they are able to achieve their highest potential in all aspects of their lives.
Pathways and Program Areas
The Noisette Foundation is chartered as a community foundation with three pathways that heal the social, economic and environmental fabric of our community long-term. These pathways are:
* 21st Century Career
The Six Program Areas Are: Environment, Human Health, Economic Development, Social Justice, Education, Arts and Culture
“Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
– Ralph Wando Emerson
Triple Bottom Line
Our emphasis on the triple bottom line guides us as we address the long term environmental, economic and social challenges of our communities. This vision is based on a balance of people, planet, and prosperity – embodying the belief that sustainable cities must be equally responsive to social needs, environmental responsibility, and economic vitality.
